Our History

The Calgary Children’s Choir (which also includes the Calgary Youth Choir and the Calgary Junior Children’s Choir) was formed in 1987 by Rosemarie Sherban to provide to children between the ages of 8 and 16 years from the city of Calgary and the surrounding area the opportunity to receive quality choral training.

For thirty-three years, this program has continued to provide outstanding choral training to young people; involving them in many diverse activities such as camps, festivals and local and international tours. The current business manager, Linda White and the Artistic Director, Marni Strome have both been with the organization since its inception. Susan Woodward our accompanist have also been with the choir for over twenty years.

Children, parents and the artistic staff have formed close friendships; contributing to a strong sense of community which has always been a characteristic proudly fostered by all participants.
