The Calgary Junior Choir serves as an introduction to music and choral performance for young singers from Grade 2 to Grade 4. In a large group setting, choristers are taught the fundamentals of reading music, watching and understanding the actions of their conductor, and how to blend their voices to create a unified sound. They are introduced to basic music theory concepts, good choral vocal production, and how to perform in a live concert setting. This choir participates in three main concerts throughout the year; the Christmas concert, the folk concert, and spring concert.

Two semesters: Sep. 12 – Dec. 5 & Jan. 9 – May 8
Weekly rehearsals on Thursdays from 4:45 PM – 6:15 PM

Crescent Heights Baptist Church at 1212 1 Street NW – Calgary
(the choir has no religious affiliations)

Fees: $1050

Fees include:

• 2 Saturday choir camps: Day Camp on October 5 & Overnight camp on January 31 – February 1
• Three Saturday a.m. workshops – November 23, February 1 & May 3
• Three Saturday dress rehearsals and concerts – December 7, March 8 & May 10
• Uniform and music rental (A post-dated deposit cheque will be collected during the first week of classes)
• Year-end event May 15

• No mandatory fundraising.
• New choristers are accepted in September and January.
